Wellness: New locker rooms a hit at CFHL

The new locker rooms at the Center for Healthy Living, part of the renovation of the Student Life Center, have been completed and are now open for use.

The locker rooms, which are more than 300 square feet larger than the previous locker rooms, feature private shower stalls, allowing for more privacy, and electronic locks on the lockers.

Reaction to the renovated locker rooms has been positive, said Jayme Nekuda, Ph.D., associate director of human resources.

“Our members and students have been exceptionally patient and understanding while the CFHL redevelopment has been under way,” Dr. Nekuda said. “We are excited to have the locker rooms completed and to be able to use them. As soon as you go inside the door you feel as though you’ve stepped into the locker room of a private club. The locker rooms are beautiful! We can’t wait for the entire redevelopment to be completed!”

The redevelopment, which will feature larger exercise areas and state-of-the-art equipment, is currently scheduled for an October grand opening.

Jayme isn't kidding, they really do feel like a private club's locker room. They're amazing. I can't wait for what the rest of the redevelopment is going to look like.

Have experienced several renditions of gym facilities and locker rooms through the years of my tenure. This time is beyond my expectations. True, I believe that I am walking into the locker room of a private club. This is absolutely amazing. WOW!
