As the new school year begins, come celebrate UNMC’s diversity and get to know your fellow classmates and coworkers at the #IamUNMC BBQ on Friday.
Faculty, staff and students are all welcome to attend this first-ever, all-campus BBQ from 4-7 p.m. at the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza. Enjoy free food from local food trucks (while supplies last), giveaways (while supplies last), music by DJ Laci, and backyard games including ladder ball, bocce ball, and others.
There also will be several activities centered around campus inclusivity and diversity. All are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
This event is hosted by the UNMC Student Senate, the Recruitment and Student Engagement Office, and the UNMC Department of Human Resources, sponsored in part by Metro Credit Union, in collaboration with the UNMC Department of Public Relations, the Environmental Health and Safety Department, the Center for Healthy Living and the UNMC Bookstore.
The rain location will be in the Truhlsen Event Center in the Sorrell Center.
Other UNMC campuses also celebrated the new school year with their own welcome events earlier this week.
In Lincoln, the College of Nursing hosted an event at Lanes N Games East Campus Bowling Alley, and the College of Dentistry hosted a pizza party.
In Scottsbluff, the College of Nursing also held a pizza party.
In Kearney, the College of Nursing and the College of Allied Health Professions held a combined picnic lunch.
