Durham to offer private trolley tour of Omaha

Nebraska Medicine employees and UNMC employees and students are invited on a private tour of historical Omaha on Aug. 22. Hop on Ollie the Trolley and take a trip back in time as you visit “The Gritty City.”

The tour, sponsored by The Durham Museum, will take participants to several historic sites, including:

  • The former home of Madame Anna Wilson;
  • The Brandeis Building; and
  • The Paxton Hotel.

This tour will highlight the impact of noted individuals and events in our city’s sometimes turbulent history.

Who: Nebraska Medicine and UNMC students and employees. One guest per person.

When: 5:30 p.m. Aug. 22. The tour lasts about 90 minutes.

Where: The trolley will pick up and drop off in front of the Sorrell Center on 42nd and Emilie Streets.

Registration: Cost is $10 per person. Space is limited to 42 participants, so please make your reservations today by calling Alex Liekhus at The Durham Museum at 402-444-5071. Be prepared to give a credit card number.

The tour is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees, students and their immediate families with valid identification. The partnership also offers lectures, workshops and other events on campus.
