Werner family tours Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center
Members of the C.L. Werner family — C.L. and Rachel Werner, and Gail Werner-Robertson and Scott Robertson — recently toured the ongoing construction of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, including the future site of the C.L. Werner Cancer Hospital. The Werners were joined by Sarah Thayer, M.D., Ph.D., professor of surgical oncology and the center’s physician-in-chief, UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., Kenneth Cowan, M.D., Ph.D., the center’s director; and Nebraska Medicine CEO Daniel DeBehnke, M.D.

Dr. Rajaram speaks as part of panel on human sex trafficking
Shireen Rajaram, Ph.D., associate professor, health promotion, social and behavioral health, UNMC College of Public Health, was one of the panelists at a sold-out panel discussion on human sex trafficking on Wednesday. The event was hosted by the Women’s Fund of Omaha and the Women’s Leadership Council of the United Way of the Midlands. Last month, Dr. Rajaram co-authored a report, “Nebraska Sex Trafficking Survivors Speak — A Qualitative Research Study” that was commissioned by the Women’s Fund of Omaha.
