Women and cardiovascular disease focus of lecture

The UNMC College of Nursing will host its fourth annual Anna Marie Jensen Cramer Memorial Lectureship in Women’s & Children’s Health & Family Nursing on Oct. 13.

Holli DeVon, Ph.D., professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Nursing, will present “20 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Women and Cardiovascular Disease.”

During her presentation, she will address cardiovascular disease issues unique to women, differences in cardiovascular risk factors between women and men and responding to acute coronary syndrome and stroke based on the symptoms that manifest in women.

The event will kick off with a reception at 5:30 p.m. with the talk starting at 6:30 p.m., in the atrium and Room 3030 in the UNMC College of Nursing Center for Nursing Science.

The lecture also will be broadcast live to the four other nursing divisions via IP Video/Vidyo. The locations are: Kearney, Health Science Education Complex, Room 106; Lincoln, Room 361; Scottsbluff Room B132; and Norfolk Room 156.

The target audience is advanced practice nurses, nurses and other health professionals.

Continuing nursing education credit is available for 1.0 contact hour.
