Annual education for physicians underway

It’s the time of year when all Nebraska Medicine physicians must complete their annual education. All physicians employed by Nebraska Medicine or dually employed by Nebraska Medicine and UNMC are required to complete this education by Dec. 31.

The overarching goals of providing annual physician education are:

  • To advance our culture of safety and excellence;
  • To ensure all physicians, regardless of specialty, have access to consistent information;
  • To ensure all activities follow HHS, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA regulations and organizational policy;
  • To ensure the patient’s bill accurately reflects the services performed by the physician;
  • To ensure that if a third party payer audits the documentation, medical necessity will be justified and reimbursement will likely occur.

The training is offered through Nebraska Medicine’s new learning management system, Apollo. Education is available now until Dec. 31. If you have questions related to Apollo, email apolloeducation@nebraskamed.com.

If you have questions on the education or concerns about the Dec. 31 deadline, please contact the Compliance Department, at (402) 559-9794 or email compliance@nebraskamed.com.

Completion of the following modules will be expected. The estimated length of time to complete each module is listed below and within Apollo for easy planning.
