Participate in the 2017 Nebraska Science Festival

Share your excitement for science with others at the 2017 Nebraska Science Festival, which will run April 20-29.

In celebration of its fifth year, UNMC faculty, staff and students are encouraged to:

  • Provide a hands-on, kid-friendly science booth at the free science expos;
  • Host a science-related event during the festival week; or
  • Serve as a SciFest volunteer.

The statewide event draws thousands of people of all ages with an interest in science and technology-related activities. A variety of booths will be needed for the following student expos:

  • April 20: The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum near Ashland, Neb.
  • April 21: The Durham Museum.
  • April 22: Science Expo at The Durham Museum open to the public.

As the presenting sponsor, UNMC encourages all faculty, staff and students to consider how they might participate and share their expertise. In the past, medical center participants have included the department of otolaryngology, the human genetics laboratory, hyberbaric medicine, pediatric dentistry, the UNMC Makers Club, clinical laboratory science, and faculty members who shared their expertise in the classroom or on panel discussions.

To get involved, or for more information, visit the website or contact Kacie Gerard.

The Nebraska Science Festival began in 2013 as an initiative of UNMC, which continues to administer the festival with the assistance of a number of organizations and individuals interested in the advancement of science literacy. The goal: make science accessible, interactive, relevant and fun for kids and adults alike.
