Meghan McLarney

Registered dietitian Meghan McLarney of the Nebraska Medicine Diabetes Center will discuss the use of probiotics in January’s Olson Center for Women Brown Bag luncheon series.

The event will be from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 17 in the UNMC Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

Probiotics have been touted for everything from improving digestion and bloating to curing disease. But are probiotics really good for everybody? And is one probiotic better than another? McLarney will discuss the pros and cons of probiotics and natural ways to incorporate probiotics into diet and meal preparation, and there will be food-tasting at the event.

Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345. Attendees can bring lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The lectures are free. However, the cost is $10 to obtain nursing credit. Payment instructions will be given at pre-registration.
