The presentation is titled, “Avoiding Medical Negligence – A U.S. Attorney’s Office Medical Malpractice Panel.”

Hook and Homan primarily handle tort/medical malpractice cases for the United States in Nebraska. In doing so, they defend the actions taken by medical professionals at Veterans Affairs Nebraska medical facilities, federally funded public health centers and clinics, and any medical facilities where Air Force medical professionals perform services.

UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., and U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg, J.D., will provide introductory remarks at the event, which is aimed at UNMC medical students, residents and physicians.

“We are pleased to welcome members of the U.S. Attorney’s Office to UNMC’s campus,” Dr. Gold said. “Mr. Homan and Mr. Hook bring a great deal of experience to this topic, and I’m sure our students, faculty and medical professionals will find this presentation both interesting and helpful.”

Please RSVP to unmcevents@unmc.edu by Jan. 27 to attend. Pizza will be provided for the first 50 attendees.
