Nominate a co-worker for the Gold U Award

On campus, there are people every day who are dedicated to UNMC, consistently go above and beyond the call of duty, and whose contribution make UNMC a great place to work.

The university community can recognize these people and show appreciation by nominating outstanding co-workers for the Chancellor’s Gold U Award.

The Gold U is given six times a year to employees who consistently deliver outstanding performance and service to UNMC. Nominations for March’s award close Feb. 24, so there still is time to submit.

Criteria for the Gold U Award include:

  • Consistently provide outstanding customer service or significantly improve the effectiveness or efficiencies of daily operations.
  • Contribute to and support of the mission and vision of UNMC in the best interest of UNMC’s customers.
  • Promote and acknowledge individual accountability for organization success.
  • Create and foster an environment of learning and communication.
  • Raise the standard on quality, and have high expectations for performance.
  • Respect individuals for their cultures, contributions and points of view.
  • Pursue excellence in a professional, ethical manner.

Recipients of the Gold U are honored at a breakfast with UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., and receive:

  • A Gold U pin;
  • A $100 cash award;
  • A UNMC Gold U certificate signed by Dr. Gold;
  • An invitation to the annual service award dinner in June;
  • Recognition at a Board of Regents meeting that includes a Board of Regents “Kudos” certificate; and
  • A career development award of up to $2,500.
