There’s still time to flex.
The UNMC Department of Human Resources wants to remind UNMC employees who have balances remaining in flexible spending accounts (FSA) for 2016 that eligible dates of service for expenses are Jan. 1, 2016, through Dec. 31, 2016.
Claims must be submitted to WageWorks by March 31 in order to receive reimbursement. Contributions not reimbursed will be forfeited.
As a reminder, employees enrolled in the University of Nebraska Blue Cross Blue Shield medical and/or dental plans, may go on to nebraskablue.com, under MyBlue and print out and save their “Explanation of Benefits” summary for the entire year. This can then be submitted for documentation.
Also, a summary of all prescriptions for the entire year may be obtained through an employee’s pharmacy. However, due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), requests for these records must be made in person. Those who use CVS Caremark for mail-order prescriptions also may obtain a summary of prescriptions from CVS Caremark.
To obtain a mail-order prescription summary:
- Log on to CVS Caremark’s website (www.caremark.com) — If you need help with your user name or password, call CVS Caremark at 800-841-5550.
- Click on the Prescriptions tab.
- Select the Prescription History link. This will allow you to view and print your prescription claims for the previous benefit year.
To get reimbursed, dates of service must have been incurred during the calendar year for 2016. Please do not use your card to submit 2016 claims. The card can only be used in the current calendar year.
To check balances and/or submit a claim:
Log on to Firefly. If you need help with your user name or password call 402-559-BUZZ (2899).
- Click on the “Employee Self Service” tab.
- Under the “Benefits” heading, click the “Flexible Spending Account” link.
- Click on the “Launch WageWorks” button. This will launch your WageWorks account into another window. If you do not see this loading, check your internet settings. The pop-up blocker must be turned off for the account to launch.
