Abbey Fingeret, M.D., UNMC Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, will explain how to evaluate and manage thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer during the next Olson Center Brown Bag luncheon, from noon-1 p.m. March 21 in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

Thyroid nodules occur in 30 percent of people in the United States. Like most thyroid conditions, nodules are more common among women than men. Fortunately, most thyroid nodules are benign, but 5 to 10 percent of thyroid nodules end up being cancer.

Seating for the event is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345. Attendees can bring lunch, and simple refreshments will be provided.

The lecture is free. However, there is a $10 charge to obtain nursing credit. Payment instructions will be given at pre-registration.

Note: The UNMC College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is provided for 1.0 contact hour under ANCC criteria.
