Last year's Innovators in Education E-Learning Showcase drew attendees from across campus to watch students and faculty demonstrate their work.

The E-Learning Program’s Innovators in Education Showcase is today in the College of Nursing Center for Nursing Science. The event, which runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., is open to all UNMC faculty, staff and students.

The showcase will highlight the most recent projects funded by the E-Learning Program through the Office of Academic Affairs. During the showcase, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the student developers and see live demonstrations of their projects.

There are new components to this year’s projects. Content areas and faculty advisers were pre-identified with the goal of creating content that more strategically supports curriculum.

Course areas are: biology of disease, pharmacology and pathophysiology. Some of the modules will focus on foundational material, some will focus content that has been determined to be challenging for students.

Also featured will be faculty members, who were awarded financial support to complete a curricular redesign, demonstrating pilots of their projects. These projects incorporate substantial active learning components in health science education using a combination of e-learning, flipped classrooms, blended learning and other modalities.

The schedule for the showcase is as follows:

  • 10:30 a.m. – Demonstrations of e-learning projects (Nos. one through six)
  • 11:30 a.m. – Recognition ceremony and keynote speakers
  • 12:30 p.m. – Demonstrations of e-learning projects (Nos. seven through 12)
