Lecture to focus on menopause

Jennifer Griffin, M.D., associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of the residency program, will speak on “Modern Menopause: Optimizing Mental and Physical Wellness,” at noon on May 16 in the Eppley Science Hall amphitheater as part of the Olson Center Brown Bag lunch series.

Menopause is a life transition most women will experience. During perimenopause and menopause, women will experience mental and emotional effects that can seem overwhelming and difficult.

Dr. Griffin will discuss current data regarding mental health during menopause, along with strategies to help optimize physical and mental health during menopause, including pharmacologic and holistic approaches.

Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 559-6345. Bring your lunch. Simple refreshments will be provided.

The lectures are free. To obtain nursing credit, the cost is $10. Payment instructions will be given at pre-registration.
