MMI’s De Souza wins ABAI award for dissertation research
Andresa De Souza, Ph.D., who graduated from the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s Applied Behavior Analysis Ph.D. program in December, won the award for the best student dissertation research paper from the Verbal Behavior Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). The paper also has been accepted for publication in “The Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis.” Dr. De Souza will receive her award at ABAI’s annual conference in Denver later this month.

Nebraska Public Health Laboratory hosting a ‘Train the Trainer’ event
The Nebraska Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) is hosting a national hands-on “Train the Trainer” workshop on how to recognize biothreat agents in laboratories. This training is being conducted by an individual from the Association of Public Health Laboratories with assistance from Karen Stiles, the NPHL state training coordinator. Stiles was instrumental in setting up this program and multiple other individuals from NPHL also will participate in some of the training presentations. The event, at UNMC, is hosting approximately 20 trainers, each representing a different state.

UNMC’s Loughran receives Student Excellence Award

  • Katie Loughran, a 2017 UNMC College of Nursing – Kearney Division graduate, was named the Student Excellence Award winner at the Annual CHI Good Samaritan nursing banquet.
