Olson Center seeking women’s health lecturers

The Olson Center for Women’s Health would like to increase the number of lectures it provides to the UNMC and Omaha communities in 2017 and is seeking faculty and staff who would be interested in speaking.

For many years, the Olson Center for Women’s Health has provided brown bag lectures on campus and at companies within the Omaha area, usually over the lunch hour.

“We are looking for faculty and staff who would like to provide a women’s health educational presentation at a local company,” said Christin McDermott of the center. “Lecture topics may also be applicable to men.”

Lectures should be at a lay level, and the content should be backed by
evidence-based research. The number of lectures provided by an individual speaker will depend upon the number of company requests — however, the Olson Center can easily limit the quantity to what works best for the presenter.

Most requests for lectures are during the fall and spring, although there are a few requests during the summer and winter, as well.

To inquire about offering a lecture, please contact Lana Molczyk, 402-559-4579, at the Olson Center for Women’s Health, to discuss topics.
