United Way of the Midlands has set three specific goals that they hope to achieve by the year 2025.
- More than two million services addressing basic needs will be delivered to our neighbors living in or at risk of poverty.
- 85 percent of ninth graders (approximately 7,900 students) are on track to succeed in school and life.
- 65 percent of residents (approximately 564,500 people) in the Omaha-Council Bluffs community are financially stable so they can support themselves and their families.

Why is it important to donate?
- Approximately 24 percent of Omaha/Council Bluffs residents have had difficulty or delay in obtaining health care services in the past year.
- 81,000 people in Nebraska live with a serious mental illness.
- 1,500 people in the Omaha area are homeless on any single night.
- Approximately 32 percent of students grades 2-11 are not reading at their grade level.
- Nearly 4,500 elementary students across the learning community school districts were chronically absent.
- Omaha is home to nearly 10,500 disconnected youth, those not in school or working.
- 12.3 percent of people living in Omaha-Council Bluffs are living in poverty.
- 37.5 percent (approximately 326,000) people in our community are not financially stable.
