University Hospital commemoration today

University Hospital (now known as University Tower) opened its doors to patients on Sept. 3, 1917.

Nebraska Medicine and UNMC leaders will commemorate this historic birthday of the hospital today with a reception in the west atrium of the Durham Outpatient Center. All colleagues are welcome to attend from 3 to 4 p.m.

Brief remarks from UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., Nebraska Medicine CEO Dan DeBehnke, M.D., MBA, and UNMC campus historian Robert Wigton, M.D., will begin at 3:15 p.m.

Light refreshments will be served.
