Marcia Shade, Ph.D.

College of Nursing’s Marcia Shade, Ph.D., wins writing award
Marcia Shade, Ph.D., assistant professor in the College of Nursing, received the Edna Stillwell Writing Award for her article “Factors Associated with Potentially Inappropriate Medication use in Rural, Community-Dwelling Older Adults.” The article was published in the September 2017 issue of the Journal of Gerontological Nursing. Dr. Shade received a plaque and a cash prize.

College of Nursing history book available for purchase
In celebration of the UNMC College of Nursing Centennial, a coffee-table book has been created to showcase the history of the college. The book features historical information taken from the 1917-1987 College of Nursing book and continues through present day.

The book is available to purchase here or by visiting the UNMC Bookstore on the Omaha campus. Only 200 books have been printed.
