How do you prepare socio-culturally focused e-learning modules about health care in Rwanda?

By spending 14 days immersed in the fabric of Rwandan society at the University of Gitwe in the southern province of Rwanda.

In June, six students from UNMC developed several e-learning modules with their counterparts in what has become an annual trip to the African nation.

Developed under the auspices of Danielle Dohrmann, a program coordinator with the International Health and Medical Education Office at UNMC, and faculty at the University of Gitwe, the collaborative project provides an experiential learning opportunity to support global health education and inter-cultural awareness.

The students will discuss their experience with a presentation at noon today in Room 2014 of the Sorrell Center. Learn more about one student’s experience in our latest Humans of UNMC feature on the UNMC Facebook page.
