Changes coming for UNMC compliance training

Changes are coming for UNMC compliance training.

All UNMC compliance training will be moving from Blackboard to Canvas effective Jan. 8. Training notifications will be updated to reflect the change from Blackboard to Canvas and include the link for Canvas to access the outstanding training. This will be effective for all employees, students and visitors.

As in the past, all new employees and students will be required to complete all UNMC compliance training and the accompanying assessments.

However, beginning in 2018, employees of longer than one year and returning students will be required to complete all trainings, but will only be required to complete an assessment for “Fundamentals of FERPA Training,” “Title IX Training” and “Information Security Awareness Training.” For the remainder of the required UNMC compliance training, employees and students will be required to complete an attestation instead of an assessment.

Although this reduces the UNMC-required assessments for individuals with employment tenure of greater than one year and returning students, the UNMC workforce and students will still receive annual training required by regulation and be responsible for the content of the training.

Employees with questions may contact Sara Ward, Campus Compliance Manager, at 402-559-3784 or sara.ward@unmc.edu.
