Emerging Professionals Program re-launches

The Emerging Professionals Program (EPP) was introduced to campus last summer with its first event — a cornhole tournament. More than 100 people attended the event.

Since then, the EPP leadership team was elected and now meets on a regular basis to discuss the goals of the organization. With the beginning of the new year, the team is ready to re-launch EPP with some exciting opportunities. The theme for this year’s events is “New Year, New You.”

The first event is a partnership with UNMC Human Resources and part of the Re-Imagining U Employee Development Series. On Feb. 7, from 9-10 a.m., Nebraska Medicine Chief Experience Officer Chad Brough will share the importance of curiosity, connection, courage, and compassion in order to live a purposeful and wholehearted life in his talk “Living with Purpose, Self-Compassion, and Resiliency.”

The EPP leadership team will be available following Brough’s presentation to answer questions about the program and inform attendees of upcoming opportunities.

Registration is required for this event and space is limited. It is open to all UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees and students. Please register here. The event location will be disclosed once registration is completed. For those who cannot attend but are interested in the presentation, a livestream link will be available on the EPP website.

The EPP website is now live as well. It features a calendar of events with upcoming opportunities on and off-campus, a section dedicated to resources (both internal and external to UNMC and Nebraska Medicine), and a membership request form for those who wish to receive communication from EPP. Check it out here.
