To ensure that UNMC’s assets are protected and that there is a defined process for transition whenever an employee is separated from UNMC, an Employee Separation Policy has been finalized. The policy outlines the procedures for which departments or units are responsible for following. Minor revisions also have been made to the Employee Grievance Process Policy and the Performance Management Policy.
The UNeCard Photo Identification and Secure Card Access Control Policy has been revised and split into two separate policies, the Identification Card Policy and Secure Area Card Access Policy .
A new Science and Technology Advisory Committee Policy outlines the membership and responsibilities of STAC. The committee primarily reviews new UNMC inventions and recommends intellectual property protection for inventions having the greatest potential to benefit the technology transfer mission of UNMC.
The Royalty and Equity Distribution Policy also has been updated. The updated policy outlines the distribution of UNMC Inventor and non-inventor proceeds generated from UNMC owned intellectual property rights. The Committee for Proceed Distribution determines distributions. The committee’s membership and responsibilities also are outlined in the policy.
