UNMC events mark Women’s History Month

Deb Welk, yoga instructor and retired registered nurse, will speak on March 21 as part of UNMC's Women's History Month events.

The extraordinary achievements of women will be honored every Wednesday in March at UNMC through four events that feature discussion, history, arts and movement. The hour-long programs begin at 12:30 p.m.

The programs are:

  • March 7 — University of Nebraska MED Talks: Eight-minute conversations with a multicultural, multigenerational group of distinguished women. Durham Research Center, Room 1006.
  • March 14 — “The Golden Rule in Reverse: How to Take Care of Yourself as Well as You Do Others,” Durham Research Center, Room 1005.
  • March 21 — “Making Moves,” lecture and live demos about living a healthy life. Maurer Center for Public Health, Room 3013.
  • March 28 — “Healing Hands Expo,” a rich tapestry of women sharing the power to heal, comfort, create, empower, and inspire. Various artists and talents will be on display. Durham Outpatient Center, west atrium.
