UNMC students can purchase UNO Wellness Center membership

Beginning April 2, UNMC students will have the opportunity to purchase a membership to the UNO Wellness Center in the Health & Kinesiology Building on the 60th and Dodge Street campus at the online student rate of $40 per month.

Membership allows:

  • Access to the Wellness Center recreation portion of the facility;
  • Access to all campus recreation programs and services;
  • Access to “membership” rates for other programs and services for which there is an additional charge (e.g. Outdoor Venture Center (OVC) trips, OVC equipment rental, Mav Kids programs, massage, etc.); and
  • Participation in the Plus One Program of sponsorship.

UNMC students also can use the facility on a per day basis for a drop-in fee of $7.

All current UNMC students are eligible.

“I am very excited to invite and welcome UNMC students to take advantage of the opportunity to utilize the UNO Wellness Center programs and facilities,” said Dan Shipp, Ed.D., vice chancellor for student success at UNMC and vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment management and dean of students at UNO. “This is another example of the great collaboration that is taking place between the two campuses focused on enhancing the many aspects of student health and wellness.”

Dr. Shipp credited UNMC student leaders Carissa Lueck and Austin Clark for working with UNO leaders to make the new benefit possible.

Membership process:

  • Purchase a membership in person at the guest services desk at the Wellness Center.
  • Memberships are month-to-month.
  • Plus One members may use the facility without the sponsor once the membership is purchased.
