Ken Cowan, M.D., Ph.D., welcomed executive staff members from Offutt Air Force Base to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center’s Chihuly Sanctuary.

Col. Stoltmann said it was the first campus visit for the group, but that the collaborative relationship between the Air Force health professionals and UNMC/Nebraska Medicine was strong.

“This visit is building on the relationship we already have with the graduate medical education program, our family medicine residents and our physician assistant training,” Col. Stoltmann said, “but there are many other ways we can collaborate with UNMC.”

After meeting with campus and hospital leaders, the Offutt group toured the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit and the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

Col. Stoltmann said the group talked about additional training opportunities, including virtual training.

“We are very impressed with the capabilities of the iEXCEL program and hope we can partake in some future training opportunities,” she said.
