The University of Nebraska at Omaha will honor valid parking permits issued by UNMC, as well as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Vanessa Rath, parking and transit manager at UNO, shared information about reciprocal permits during UNMC’s May Faculty Senate meeting.
During the summer months, Rath said, faculty and staff who travel to the UNO campus may park in most campus lots with a valid UNMC parking permit. Payment is still required if parked at a meter. Visitor Lots 3, KV and 8 are not available.
That, however, will change Aug. 20, when UNO’s fall semester begins.
From that point on, and throughout the 2018-19 academic year, UNMC faculty and staff must park in the following lots with their valid UNMC parking permit:
- Dodge Campus – East Garage Lots T and U, West Garage and Faculty/Staff surface lots
- Scott Campus – Pacific Street Garage and Faculty/Staff surface lots
After 5 p.m., UNMC permits are valid in appropriate lots. Reciprocal permits — which enable UNMC employees to park at UNO — are not valid at the meters weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., or in Visitor Lots 3, KV and 8.
