Annual walk supports speech programs at MMI

The 10th annual WalkRite for RiteCare will be held on June 23 at Lake Zorinsky Picnic Pavilion.

The family-friendly, non-competitive walk raises money for the RiteCare Speech and Language Clinic at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute.

“Scottish Rite Masons have been supporting speech therapy for children for more than 40 years,” said Micah Evans, a spokesman for Scottish Rite. “Our partnership with the MMI Speech Department has been a hugely successful one for the children of Nebraska who need and can’t afford speech services. The RiteCare Clinics are dedicated to helping these children, and each dollar raised — which are used to provide necessary therapy — saves a minimum of $7 later in remedial education or social services.”

All donations are tax-deductible and support speech therapy and programs at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute’s RiteCare Clinic.

Last year’s event raised $8,414 for speech and language therapy for Nebraska children.
