UNMC College of Nursing to host information sessions on doctoral nursing degrees

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing will host three events to give prospective students a closer look at its doctoral nursing programs, including one event that’s accessible on the web. Faculty will be available to discuss degree choices, financing and juggling life as a student.

College representatives will be on hand in Omaha, Lincoln and via the Internet this month to talk about the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and doctor of nursing practice (D.N.P.) degrees. The degrees can help advance nursing careers.

A Ph.D. prepares individuals for leadership roles in research, education, practice, health policy, and administration. The D.N.P. is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses in advanced clinical expertise, quality improvement, patient safety and health systems change.
