Xiaowei Li, Ph.D.

Xiaowei Li, Ph.D., is a new faculty member at UNMC.

Hometown: Luoyang, China
Title and department at UNMC: Assistant professor, department of neurological sciences and the Holland Regenerative Medicine Program

Research/professional interests:

Biomaterials
Stem Cell Engineering
Regenerative Medicine

How I fell in love with regenerative medicine:
Stem cells hold tremendous therapeutic potential but have had limited applications in the clinical setting, especially for treatment of injured/diseased central nervous system. My bioengineering background could address technical challenges of stem cell-based therapies, leading me to this fascinating area, regenerative medicine.
