FBI agent to lecture on fraud in the medical profession

Anthony Engler, intelligence analyst for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will present a lecture, “Fraud in the Medical Profession: A Perspective from the FBI,” at 4 p.m., Monday in the Maurer Center for Public Health, Room 2001.

Engler will talk about health care fraud schemes and fraud affecting those in the medical profession. He will provide a better understanding of how fraud affects the health care industry and information on how medical professionals can avoid involvement with fraud schemes. He will discuss potential pitfalls of fraud with the operation of a provider’s practice, how fraud can target medical professionals as the victims and how to report potential fraud.

The lecture is sponsored by the UNMC College of Public Health, Department of Environmental Agricultural and Occupational Health.
