Online performance evaluations open in UNeVal

UNMC requires that management annually evaluate, in writing, the performance of each employee. All staff performance evaluations should be completed by June 15 for fiscal year 2018-2019.

Performance is judged on the basis of productivity, effectiveness, and overall value and contribution to the department and to the university. Employees may review UNMC Performance Evaluation Policy here.

Employees and evaluators may complete online performance evaluations in UNeVal. Please review the NU Values Online Performance Evaluation web page. This web page provides guidelines for administrators, employees and evaluators (supervisors). In addition, this page provides a sample online performance evaluation, ITEACH core values and annual performance appraisal guidelines.

Changes:

Rating scale changed from 5 to 4 where:
1. Unsatisfactory Performance: Seldom meets established standards; must improve for continued employment.
2. Needs Improvement: Sometimes meets established standards but lack consistency; seldom exceeds and often falls short of desired results; must improve for continued employment.

3. Meets Expectations: Meets and occasionally exceeds established standards.
4. Exceeds Expectations: Consistently meets and almost always exceeds expected levels of performance.

Enhancements:

  • Automated reminders at each step/status: open, employee modified, employee submitted, evaluator modified and evaluator submitted.
  • Increased space for comments from 1,000 characters to 2,000 characters.
  • Ability to copy and paste.
  • Added guide with SMART Goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Bound) to assist employees in writing goals.
  • Added compliance value.

Evaluators will see any available evaluations for them to complete/take action in profile summary. Refer to the “Assigned Employee Evaluations” section. To open evaluation, click on the “Open Form” button located after “Requires your input.”
