Norfolk training for care of those with developmental disabilities and dementia

The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI), a department of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will hold a training opportunity in Norfolk for people providing services to adults with intellectual and developmental  disabilities (I/DD), as well as family members who are caring for a loved one with I/DD.
 
Master trainers from the National Task Group (NTG) will be in Norfolk, Neb., on April 24, 25 and 26 to offer the NTG training curriculum on dementia capable care of adults with intellectual disabilities and dementia. The curriculum is evidence-based and includes information from the best of the research that is currently available and is strongly experience-informed from the top experts in the country who have been working in the field of I/DD and dementia care for many years. The location for this training is Northeast Community College, 801 E. Benjamin Ave.
 
The basic training is for two days (April 24 and 25) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at a cost of $150. The third day of the training (April 26) is for those attending the two-day session who desire to become affiliated trainers with the NTG.
