On May 30, the UNMC Human Resources Benefits Office will offer a seminar on retirement readiness. The seminar will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the University of Nebraska at Omaha Thompson Alumni Center.
Parking passes will be provided the week of the event to those that are registered.
Topics covered will include:
- So I’m Retired. Now What?
- Wills, Living Wills & Trusts
- Paying Yourself: Income Options in Retirement
- Everything You Wanted to Know About Social Security
- Top 10 Things To Do Before You Retire
- Your Medicare and Supplements in Plain English
There will also be a retirement vendor fair over the lunch break. Various vendors from the community will be available to discuss the benefits their organization offers and/or potential volunteer opportunities available.
Registration is required. Unfortunately we do not have permission from the presenters to record or broadcast the seminar and no additional sessions will be given. Seating is limited. To register, log on to UNMC Employee Services, click on the Education tab, then on Register for Training. Under Available Events, search Retirement. Click on the Retirement Seminar, then on the right-hand side complete the required information and click the Register button. If you are unable to attend once you register, please log back in and remove your enrollment by clicking the red “x” next to the training. This will allow anyone that is wait listed to attend.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln also offering seminar
For those unable to attend the UNMC seminar, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln also presenting a half day retirement seminar April 24.
If you would like to livestream this presentation, the session will run from 8 a.m.-noon on this link. Registration is not required to view the live stream.
This session will also be recorded and available for viewing a few days after the presentation at this link.
Anyone interested in attending the morning or afternoon session in person will need to register, as seating is limited. The registration deadline is April 21. To register:
- Go to the UNL Training Registration site.
- At the top right corner, login using your UNMC username and password. For anyone experiencing log in issues: If you receive any error messages, contact training@unl.edu and copy/paste the text or a screenshot with your message.
- The Pre-Retirement Seminar is under the Human Resources category
- Choose the morning or afternoon session and click on the corresponding Spring Pre-Retirement Seminar “Add to cart.”
- Click on the button “I’ll be attending alone” or “I’ll be bringing a guest”
- Click on the green “Add to Cart.” If bringing a guest, a box will appear. Click on “Add new Guest member,” enter the first name, last name and email (this can be your email address), then click on ‘Add Course with members to cart’
- Click on the green ‘Checkout’ tab. This will take you to Review your Current Order; review and then click on “Proceed to Next Step”
- You will receive a confirmation e-mail once your registration has been processed. No handouts are attached; they will be provided at the seminar.
