Danielle Drummond

Danielle Drummond is a new faculty member at UNMC.

  • Name: Danielle Drummond
  • Hometown: Plattsmouth, Neb.
  • Title and department at UNMC: Assistant professor, education and research services librarian

Research/professional interests:

  • User experience;
  • Educational technologies;
  • Online learning; and
  • Assessment.

How I fell in love with medical librarianship:
I started my library career in reference and user services, so I enjoy that this profession allows me to work with a variety of library patrons (students, researchers, nurses, community members, etc.) and to help them locate and access information that they need.

Degrees:

  • Bachelor’s of Science, education, University of Nebraska at Omaha
  • Master’s, library and information science, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Memberships:

  • Medical Library Association
  • Midcontinental Chapter of the Medical Library Association
  • Special Library Association

Three things people may not know about me:

  • I’m the only redhead in my family, on both my mother’s and father’s side.
  • I spent two weeks in Ireland as an undergrad with my Irish literature class.
  • I’ve just started to get into podcasts — topics that I listen to range from books, libraries (New York Public Library has a good one), cross stitching, TED talks and humor.
