Human trafficking will be focus of Olson Center event

Human trafficking is real, and it is taking place here in Nebraska.

Amy Mead, associate nurse manager in the Nebraska Medicine Emergency Department, will discuss human trafficking at the next Brown Bag Lecture sponsored by the Olson Center for Women’s Health. The lecture will run from noon to 1 p.m. on April 16 in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

Mead will describe the red flags for identifying human trafficking in the health care setting and look at the challenges that can occur in providing care. State resources to help human trafficking victims also will be discussed.

Bring your lunch and simple refreshments will be provided.

The lectures are free. The cost is $10 to obtain nursing credit, and payment instructions will be given when you pre-register.
