picture disc.Del Lee, associate vice chancellor for Finance and Business Services at UNMC, has been appointed interim associate dean for fiscal affairs for the College of Medicine.

Lee was named “designate” to the associate dean for fiscal affairs position on Sept. 1, and will officially assume the interim appointment later this year when Irene Klintberg, Ph.D., retires.

“I’m truly delighted and most grateful that Del will be assisting me during this period of transition in the Dean’s office,” said John Gollan, M.D., Ph.D., dean and Stokes-Shackleford Professor of Medicine, College of Medicine. “His many years of experience, relationships and knowledge of the campus and university will be invaluable.”

In his interim role, Lee will be responsible for fiscal affairs of the College of Medicine, as well as assisting the dean with special projects.

As associate vice chancellor for Finance and Business Services, Lee has provided leadership to more than 25 departments within Finance and Business Services, Security and Facilities Management and Planning. He joined the medical center in 1972.

As of November, Lee anticipates spending 75 percent to 80 percent of his time at the College of Medicine; the remainder of his time will be spent helping transition one individual into his role in Finance and Business Services and another person into a new appointment in Facilities Management and Planning. His primary office, however, will be in the College of Medicine.
