OPPD manager to join UNMC Business and Finance team

picture disc.Don Leuenberger, vice chancellor for Business and Finance at UNMC, today announced the hiring of Ken Hansen as assistant vice chancellor for Facilities Management and Planning, effective Nov. 1.

Hansen is a 29-year employee of the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD), where he has served as division manager since 1997. He has extensive experience in energy and technology solutions, as well as in managing construction activities.

Hansen also has been manager of facilities and operations at OPPD, which included the startup and operation of the Fort Calhoun Power Station training center and administration facilities and the North Omaha Power Station administration facilities.

“Ken brings with him a wealth of experience in large facility operations and we look forward to having him join our business and finance group at UNMC,” Leuenberger said.

“This is the opportune time with growth on campus to bring an individual like Ken dedicated to leading Facilities into the future,” said Del Lee, interim associate dean for fiscal affairs for the College of Medicine.

Hansen earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and completed the management of managers program at the University of Michigan Business School.
