The River City Mixed Chorus

The River City Mixed Chorus

The River City Mixed Chorus, Nebraska’s largest LGBTQ arts organization with more than 100 performers, will celebrate its 35th anniversary season with the concert “Rhythm of Change — 35 Years of the River City Mixed Chorus.”

The chorus is offering members of the UNMC community $5 off the purchase price of $20 and $25 seats.

The performance will be held at 7 p.m. on June 15 at the Holland Performing Arts Center in downtown Omaha.

In honor of its 35th anniversary, the chorus will pay tribute to iconic artists from Broadway, film and the pop charts who have impacted and shaped our community over the past three decades, including Freddie Mercury, Judy Garland, Elton John and more. Plus, the concert will feature the commissioned piece “Quiet No More,” which tells the story of the Stonewall Uprising in New York City in 1969, a turning point in LGBT history and the catalyst for the modern gay rights movement. The piece includes works by Michael McElroy (“Rent”), Our Lady J (“Pose,” “Transparent”), and Julian Hornik (“Dear Evan Hansen”).

Following the show, audience members are invited to join the chorus in the Holland Center lobby for a free reception and dance from 9-11 p.m.

Reserved seating for Rhythm of Change starts at $15 and can be purchased through TicketOmaha.com or by calling the Ticket Omaha box office at 402-345-0606.
