The cutting-edge 3-D, virtual reality and other simulation technology at UNMC’s iEXCEL Program — and how it is changing health education — will be featured on a new NET series, “What If. . .,” that showcases innovative ideas.

NET, Nebraska’s PBS and NPR Stations, created the television series to follow visionaries who aren’t afraid to think outside the box. Two episodes of “What If. . .” premiere back-to-back at 8 and 8:30 p.m. CST, Thursday, June 13 on NET. The iEXCEL Program will be featured in the second episode.

An online extension of the “What If. . .” television series is “Innovator Insights,” which are short videos intended for the next generation of young innovators. They feature innovators from diverse backgrounds, including some who are featured in “What If. . .” stories.

UNMC’s Pam Boyers, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for clinical simulation, is featured in an “Innovator Insights” video. It is part of the NET LearningMedia library serves as a resource for teachers, students, parents and others who are exploring options following high school or college.
