Best Master’s Program, an online guide to the best master’s degrees and careers, placed the UNMC College of Nursing’s master’s program second in its Top 25 Online Master’s in Nursing Degree for 2019.

The BMP ranking of the Top Master’s in Nursing, the announcement said, is intended to guide students to MSN programs with a real return on investment and career impact.

Best Master’s Programs used four criteria to determine the ranking:

  • Average alumni salary;
  • Niche student reviews;
  • Tuition rate; and
  • U.S. News & World Report nursing school ranking.

The top three Master’s in Nursing programs for 2019 are:
1. University of Texas Medical Branch;
2. UNMC; and

3. Ohio State University.

“We are delighted to know that the quality of the program, and our students, faculty, and staff are recognized by this wonderful ranking,” said Juliann Sebastian, Ph.D., dean of the UNMC College of Nursing. “The multiple strategies faculty use for distance education provide opportunities for collaborative learning, synchronous and asynchronous learning, seminars and lectures, and experiential and clinical learning.

“The many teaching methods provide a rich hybrid of educational approaches that take online and distance learning to a new level. My congratulations to faculty, staff, and students for this great recognition of their efforts.”
