All UNMC, UMA and The Nebraska Medical Center employees, students and their families are invited to stop by the Joslyn Art Museum on Sunday, Oct. 30, and participate in an afternoon of artful fun.

The Passport Partners Family Day runs from 1 to 4 p.m. and includes making animal masks and Halloween treat bags, guided tours of John James Audubon’s exhibit, and cookies and punch. Employees simply show their ID badge to receive free admission to the event.

The Audubon exhibit, which is on display through Dec. 31, features 80 selected prints of animals from the common American wildcat, grizzly bear and red Texan wolf to the little harvest mouse, polar hare and Oregon flying squirrel. Guided tours will be at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The family day is part of the Passport Partners program, in which all UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and UMA employees, students and their families are admitted free to the museum and ticketed exhibitions by showing their employee ID badge at Joslyn’s entrance desk. A free admission includes two adults and accompanying children during general admission hours, which are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. The Joslyn Art Museum is at 2200 Dodge Street.

On Oct. 30, medical center families may have lunch at the Cafe Durham, which will be open from noon to 2 p.m., and shop at the Hitchcock Museum Shop and Scott EdTech Gallery and receive 10 percent off their purchases (Oct. 30 only, some exclusions apply).

In addition to the Audubon exhibit, visitors also may see the Picasso exhibit, which features more than 90 prints, as well as a selection of paintings by the renowned artist. The Picasso exhibit is on display through Dec. 31.
