Research/professional interests: I am interested in the 3D organization of DNA within the nucleus. I aim to discover mechanisms that drive this organization to the point where we can predict the structure and functional consequences with high accuracy.
How I fell in love with chromatin biology: When I was an undergraduate, I had no idea what I wanted to do until I took a general biology course. While there have been many great advances, I felt impressed by the vast amount of knowledge we lack. Picking a particular field of study was difficult at first, but when I started my Ph.D., I found it fascinating that DNA modifications and chromatin structure affect so much of our health and daily life.
