Harvest season can bring more than crop yields. It also can bring an increased risk for potential injuries — in the fields, in the farmyards and on the roadways. During a broadcast tonight of RFD-TV’s “Rural America Live,” UNMC experts will discuss how to prevent agricultural-related injuries this harvest season.

UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., will be joined by Aaron Yoder, Ph.D., associate professor of environmental, agricultural and occupational health at UNMC; and Eric Ernest, M.D., assistant professor of emergency medicine at UNMC and also the state of Nebraska’s EMS Medical Director to discuss such farm safety issues as machinery incidents, tractor rollovers, power-take-off accidents and grain-bin tragedies.

The Nashville-based broadcast begins at 9 p.m. CDT. Find RFD-TV on local television providers.
