The 13th annual “Night of a Thousand Stars” will illuminate Omaha on Saturday, Dec. 3. The UNMC pre-party reception with hors d’oeuvres will be at the Omaha Woman’s Club, 518 S. 38th St., beginning at 7 p.m.

Ticket information

Tickets will go on sale Monday, Nov. 14. For tickets, contact Deanna Hansen at 559-5392 or dmhansen@unmc.edu, or Jayme Nekuda at 559-8448 or jnekuda@unmc.edu. In addition, tickets will be sold outside of the Nebraska Cafe from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, and Thursday, Dec. 1. World AIDS Day is Dec. 1.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Nebraska AIDS Project, which works closely with UNMC health care providers in treating and advocating for people with HIV/AIDS.

“This event provides the public an opportunity to show their support for people with HIV/AIDS,” said Susan Swindells, M.D., medical director of the UNMC HIV Clinic and the Terry K. Watanabe Chair of HIV Research. “It’s always a fun night, and this year should be no different.”

The theme for this year’s UNMC event is “Life is a Cabaret.” Tickets for the event are $40 per person. This ticket provides admission to the UNMC event and to the night’s main event, which will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Holiday Inn Central, 3321 S. 72nd St. The main event entertainment will include “A Broadway Musical Revue,” to be followed by “The Confidentials.”

Last year, more than 4,000 people attended the main event. It will feature desserts and a night of dancing.
