Center for Continuing Education’s open house Dec. 16

The Center for Continuing Education’s EMS and Trauma programs have a new home.

The classroom formerly known as the Poynter Hall Amphitheater has been renovated into one large classroom and two smaller rooms to be used in training health care providers in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and EMS course offerings. Two additional rooms on Poynter Hall’s fifth floor enable the EMS and Trauma group to create a realistic setting for training individuals in lifesaving techniques.

These renovated, fully equipped training rooms will ease the wear and tear on equipment by eliminating the need for constant breakdown and set up of classrooms. By providing an enhanced environment for training, the student will have the feel of an actual clinical and pre-hospital setting.

The Center for Continuing Education will have an open house on Friday, Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Poynter Hall, Room 6003. Instructors will be on hand to provide demonstrations of equipment. Refreshments will be provided, along with an hourly drawing for prizes.
