Parking changes instituted at medical center

Because work assignments have changed or expanded during the COVID-19 pandemic, parking enforcement in several lots at the Nebraska Medical Center/UNMC campus has been relaxed for the time being.

If you must drive your car to Nebraska Medical Center and you don’t have a current parking assignment, you can park in Lots 6, 8 or 9 or any other employee or student lot.

See a parking map.

Please do not park in patient parking areas, specifically Lots 1 and 2. You will receive a citation.

How about a map of the various parking lots? I’ve worked at UNMC for nearly 40 years and have no idea where these lots are located since I’ve never had a reason to know.

A link to a parking map has been added.

Will there be a reimbursement for parking fees as employees are sent home by department and university leadership to work?

What if you have a current parking assignment? Are you still able to park in lots 6,8, or, or any other employee or student lot? Or do you have to stay in your assigned lot?

If people wish to cancel their permits, they are entitled to do so until they return to campus. Upon return to campus, parking permits can be repurchased and Parking Services will make its best effort to return parkers to their previous lots, but may not be able to guarantee that.
