UNMC employees contributed $120,725 to the 2005 United Way of the Midlands campaign.
“Year after year, UNMC has answered an important challenge: to help those in need through a workplace United Way drive,” said Andy Kammerer, campaign division director at United Way of the Midlands. “With your employee contribution.your team clearly demonstrates its generosity and community involvement.”
The United Way Community Care Fund supports more than 150 local health and human service programs. For every dollar donated, 90 cents is returned to an affiliated agency. More specifically, there are agencies funded by contract from which UNMC receives direct support, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the American Heart Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
