Dr. O’Dell receives Desforges Distinguished Teaching Award
Dave O’Dell, M.D., recently received the American College of Physicians’ Dr. Jane F. Desforges Distinguished Teaching Award — one of the ACP’s highest awards bestowed for the ennobling qualities of a great teacher as judged by the acclaim and accomplishments of former students who have been inspired and have achieved positions of leadership in the field of medical education, primarily as teachers. Dr. Beachy elected to ACP post
Micah Beachy, D.O., recently was elected as governor of the Nebraska Chapter of the American College of Physicians. He succeeds Marvin Bittner, M.D., who led the organization for the past four years.
Dr. Beachy, of Omaha, is vice president/chief quality officer at Nebraska Medicine and associate professor in the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine. He is a graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and received his post-doctoral training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He became a Fellow of ACP (FACP) in 2012. Fellowship is an honorary designation that recognizes ongoing individual service and contributions to the practice of medicine.
