Get your groceries to go at medical center

Get your groceries at work? It’s possible for colleagues who work at the medical center. Sodexo has launched a new program, “Grocery 2 Go,” that allows colleagues to place an online grocery order and pick it up at Clarkson Cafe.

“We wanted to support our colleagues and thought this convenient service would add to their well-being,” said Tom Hoffman, executive director, Food and Nutrition Services.

Here’s how it works. Colleagues can access this order form at least one business day in advance (pick- up is offered Monday through Friday). Colleagues can order a selection of frozen foods, pantry staples like pasta and peanut butter, eggs, milk, produce — even laundry detergent.

Colleagues can choose a pick-up time and pay with cash, credit or Quick charge at the Clarkson Cafe cashier station. Large orders will be boxed; smaller orders will be placed in biodegradable bags.

“We will take extra precautions while handling the items and minimize the number of people who come in contact with the groceries,” Hoffman said. “We are using our existing Sodexo vendors who already are delivering to the campus. These vendors have a long-standing track record of safety.”

Hoffman said Sodexo also is working to expand the service to include carryout meals.
